"I spent a lot of time evaluating and getting quotes from 4 different basement waterproofers and decided to go with Budget Basement in the end because of their cost. (BTW, don't even bother calling Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing--those guys are such scam artists, giving you ridiculously inflated prices the first time, then a more reasonable but still high price the second time.) The team who came out to my house (Fondel and Lacey) worked  for 2.5 days (I was originally quoted 3); they worked hard through the entire day, not really taking breaks, and didn't even take bathroom breaks upstairs to avoid trekking dirt around the house. They were also very polite and called me when they were running late.

I'd give Budget Basement 5 stars, except two days after they finished, we had a heavy rain. Turns out, some of the PVC pipes weren't epoxied together, so when the sump pump kicked in, it sprayed water all over the basement. I called Budget Basement right away, but since it was Dec 23, the office was closed. However, I called the cell phone number mentioned in the office away message and got a hold of the (presumably) owner, who sent out his nephew to fix the problem that morning. Since then, the system has been working very well.

I'd recommend Budget for their price, their efficiency, and their customer service, but I would also advise you (regardless of which waterproofer you pick) to pour a bucket of water into the sump pump pit before the team leaves to make sure everything is hooked up correctly!"

"They showed up on time, were very respectful and careful. They did quality work and cleaned up after themselves. I haven't noticed any moisture since and we have had some heavy rains. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to permanently solve a potentially damaging problem. "
